Mark Schmidt
Chief Executive Officer
As CEO, Mark provides strategic and managerial leadership and oversees all aspects of FSG’s operations.
Prior to FSG, Mark served as the Chief Regulatory Relations Officer for Bankers Healthcare Group, FSG’s parent company. Mark previously spent 7 years as a Managing Director at Promontory Financial Group and 33 years with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in various supervisory positions. His most recent FDIC roles included overseeing bank supervision policy in Washington, D.C. and serving as Regional Director of the Atlanta region. While at FDIC, Mark also served as a consultant for the International Monetary Fund and participated in the 1996 Legis Fellows Program, working for the Banking and Financial Services Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Mark earned an MBA in finance from the University of Missouri and a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University.
